#WalmerianWoman

We’re back with interviews with the women of Walmeric! This week’s #WalmerianWoman is Larisa Paraschiv, Business Unit Director, who reflects on her work as a leader at Walmeric and the path that has led her to where she is now – don’t miss her!

1. What is the biggest challenge you have faced as a leader and how did you overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced as a leader was managing a diverse team trying to make sure our vision became a reality. This challenge taught me the importance of leading from a place of empathy and understanding. I learned that the success of the team is intrinsically linked to their ability to collaborate and develop together.

2. How would you describe the impact your role has on the company and the work team?

I believe that my transversal role in many moments of my career has positively influenced the company and the team by promoting an environment of personal and human growth. By understanding the different areas not only from the operational side of the company, I have always tried to facilitate closer collaboration and mutual support among team members. I believe this is contributing to a more human work environment and a more cohesive team.

3. What is your long-term vision for your career in the company?

My long-term vision is to continue to learn and grow in this company that has undergone an amazing transformation in recent years. I am inspired by the idea of contributing to this evolution and being part of an exciting future. My goal is to lead changes that will lead to new successes while continuing my own professional growth and development.

4. What advice would you give to other women aspiring to leadership positions in the company?

To women aspiring to leadership positions in the company, I would say:

  • Be confident in your abilities and what you can bring to the table. Don’t underestimate your value and potential.
Seek out mentors and support networks that can provide guidance and support along the way.
Expand your technical and leadership skill sets. The combination of both is essential for success.
Find ways to balance your professional and personal responsibilities. Self-management is crucial to effective leadership.
Embrace opportunities that take you out of your comfort zone. Every challenge is an opportunity for learning and growth.

And, more important than all of the above, don’t forget to be a person, a partner and a friend to your teams. Make each and every member of your team feel heard, supported and encouraged.
